The Decent of Man (book review)
Title :- The Decent of Man
By :- Charles Darwin
Published :- Penguin (1879- 2004) Paperback (700 pages)
Outline;- Darwin had earlier thought sex was the principal driver of evolution, but this was changed when Wallace proposed “survival of the fittest”. In some ways this book is a compilation of examples and rational that was leading Darwin towards his sex concept, and does give credence to Darwin’s consideration. This is a typical Darwin book, showing great detail & diverse observations with simple rationalization. Looks at a myriad of animals, and occasionally compares some aspects to the characteristics of man. Very tedious reading, but always interesting.
