Outline :- An expanded thesis wherein Indonesian radio, press and television was controlled by the early Soeharto government to bring cohesion and sense of one country to a highly divided and divided society – and essentially manufacture a Nation. One side effect was to promote international cultural values (jeans are universal dress) over local ethnic character. With the internet and such modern developments censorship & control was no longer practical, and with the fall of Soeharto was the right time for lifting controls on the Media, through more licenses (radio, TV, print) and change of direction for government control structures. Well written.
