Outline;- Asperger syndrome is developed in various degrees in a large portion of the world’s population. Essentially the brain is wired differently wherein aspergers people have a strangeness in relating to other people, but are well focused on individual matters. Most people with mild cases are never diagnosed and learn to adjust to society, but can be shy etc. The gene tends to be passed down from the father to son, and can be more or less intense in the children.
The book advances beyond the recognition of the syndrome and goes into some medical research aspects and then into diet options. After reading this book I saw a BBC medical research program where certain bacteria in the stomach can produce enzymes that affect brain development, and other ongoing research is looking into the wider spectrum of such syndromes. Great to see science advancing.
Very interesting to learn, and thus recognize that so many people exhibit some elements of Asperger’s syndrome.
