At the Ice Breaker dinner event for the Ikatan Ahli Geologi Indonesia (IAGI) ke 43 event on the 15 Sep 2014 I listened to the energetic talk by Ahok, deputy Governor of Jakarta. As a young graduating geologist Ahok’s dream was that one day he would stand up at an important geological forum and deliver a paper to his peers. However Ahok found success in politics and now this event was the realization of his dream, to deliver a speech to an audience of keen and successful geologists….but as a politician. The audience chuckled at this intentional joke of irony.
