Title :-The Big Six – A behind the scenes look at the scandals, power plays, and professional lapses at the nation’s top accounting firms.
By :- Mark Stevens
Published :- Touchstone, New York (1991) Paperback (260 pages)
Outline;- Various controversial case studies involving the six largest auditing firms (USA), including reviews of audits and reviews of audits. Despite the well developed system of checks and controls, the human factor repeatedly comes into play that overrides and allows poor reporting that in turn can lead to company crashes without the shareholders being adequately warned etc.
Some of the cases seem repetitive, and the book is overall boring.
